Give a Little Kindness, Have a Big Impact

Giving Tuesday: Also known as #GivingTuesday on social media platforms, refers to the Tuesday directly following Thanksgiving in the United States. It was created to signify the beginning of the Holiday season through acts of giving and kindness.

This “GivingTuesday, Save Down Syndrome would like to highlight two opportunities for our readers to help give back or pay it forward.

  1. One of our ambassadors, Lauren Costabile (Website: Lauren Costabile), is traveling to Africa to visit two young girls with Down syndrome who are in need of clothing essentials. She is collecting sizes 2T, 4T and 5T. If you are interested in donating, please contact Lauren directly at laurencostabile@gmail.com. The deadline is December 14, 2018.

  2. Mia Jacqueline is a vibrant, loving and energetic 5 year old little girl who has Down syndrome and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on January 24, 2018. Save Down Syndrome is looking for someone to design an image for an upcoming fundraiser that will benefit Mia and her family. The fundraiser will be held with the hope that we can raise enough funds to help offset some of their financial burdens due to medical costs.

We are also looking for any small shops or individuals who would like to donate items for this fundraiser. These items would be part of a silent auction on Instagram and 100% of the proceeds received would go to Mia and her family. If you have an item you would be interested in donating for this event, please reach out to Kaitlin Pepper, Save Down Syndrome’s President, at Kaitlin.Pepper@savedownsyndrome.org.

You can follow Mia’s journey on Instagram @Princess_MiaT21.
